Puppy Guarantee

No one can ever guarantee that a puppy will not be affected by Hip Dysplasia, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, or any other hereditary disease. I can guarantee that I have bred only sound dogs and have researched the pedigrees to the best of my abilities. I try to reduce the odds of producing a defective puppy. By doing these things, I offer this guarantee upon compliance of the stated requirements of the purchaser.

Your K & A Labradors, AKC registered puppy comes with a 28 month guarantee that covers only genetic problems which will prevent the dog from being certified through OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation, Inc.).

Health Guarantee

Your puppy has been seen by Bay Beach Veterinary Medical Clinic in Virginia Beach, VA for a general health check-up. All shots and worming's are up to date at the time you receive your puppy and rated to be in excellent health. For your guarantee to be in effect, you must take your puppy to your veterinarian within 7 (seven) days of you receiving your puppy for a well check-up. This is to ensure that the puppy is healthy at the time you receive him/her. If the puppy is found to be unhealthy in the time frame you have to take the puppy to your vet, 7 (seven) days, you can return the puppy at your expense with a written explanation from your vet along with all the paper work and I will give you a full refund. If the puppy becomes ill after your vet has given the puppy a clean bill of health, I will not be responsible. This guarantee is applicable to the original owner only and is not transferable.

Hip Guarantee

In order for the hip guarantee to be in affect, the following must be adhered to:

The dog's hips are to be x-rayed on or after the age of 2 years (24 months), but before 28 months, at owners expense. X-rays are to be submitted to OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) for evaluation. If OFA finds that the dog's hips to be less then Fair, K & A Labradors will replace it with another puppy of equal breeding from the next available agreed upon litter with you (the owner) paying the difference in price, if the replacement puppy is greater then the original price. You (the owner) will be responsible for any shipping charges. This guarantee applies under the following conditions:

1. I must receive a copy of the x-rays and a copy of the OFA results.

2. I must receive proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered. (at owners expense)

3. The AKC papers are to be signed over and returned to Kimbaly Burd.

4. The guarantee is void if the dog has sired or whelped a litter.

5. The OFA shall be the sole judge regarding hip dysplasia.

6. The guarantee only applies to the original owner and is not transferable.

Eye Guarantee

In order for the eye guarantee to be in affect, the following must be adhered to:

The dog must be examined by a certified canine ophthalmologist at the age of 12 months, and every year there after, at owners expense. The results are to be submitted to CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation, Inc.) for evaluation. If the dog's eye's are found to have evidence of a genetic eye disease, K & A Labradors will replace it with another puppy of equal breeding from the next available agreed upon litter with you (the owner) paying the difference in price, if the replacement puppy is greater then the original price. You (the owner) will be responsible for any shipping charges. This guarantee applies under the following conditions:

1. I must receive a copy of the CERF results.

2. I must receive proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered. (at owners expense)

3. The AKC papers are to be signed over and returned to Kimbaly Burd.

4. The guarantee is void if the dog has sired or whelped a litter.

5. CERF shall be the sole judge regarding eyes.

6. The guarantee only applies to the original owner and is not transferable.

It is understood that the above guarantees are regarding only congenital and hereditary defects. Any physical accident or injury to the dog, also including nutritional deficiencies, will void the guarantee.

If for any reason you are unable to keep your puppy, please give me, Kimbaly Burd (breeder) the first option of taking the puppy. You will receive compensation for the puppy when it is re-sold to a new owner. I want to insure that ALL MY PUPPIES have good homes and do not get left behind for any reason.

If the buyer breaches any part of this agreement, K & A Labradors (Kimbaly Burd) is released from any obligations.
